By using The Napkin you agree to these terms. The Napkin is a tool for friend groups to record and settle their own calls.

What The Napkin is — and isn't

The Napkin records social commitments between people who already know each other. It is not a sportsbook, a betting service, a casino, or a money-transfer service.
The Napkin never processes payments, holds funds, verifies transactions, or guarantees that anyone makes good. "Made good" and "Confirmed" are marks your group applies to itself.
Money stakes are social IOUs settled between people directly. Any Venmo link is an external redirect; Apple Cash guidance is instructional only.

Group Pro

One member may sponsor a group with a Group Pro subscription, unlocking the full archive depth and advanced stats for every verified member. Core participation — creating, accepting, resolving, and settling — is always free and is never gated by a subscription. If a sponsorship ends, nothing is deleted; only the deeper views fold back up. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and managed in your Apple account settings.

Eligibility and lawful use

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use The Napkin.
Use The Napkin only for lawful social commitments between people who know each other. Don't use it for anything unlawful where you live, and don't put unlawful, hateful, or harassing content on a receipt.
Nothing recorded on the Napkin creates a legally enforceable debt or obligation. Receipts are your group's own record — "Owed," "Made good," and "Confirmed" are marks your group applies to itself, and The Napkin never collects, enforces, or adjudicates anything.

Your content

You are responsible for what you put on the Napkin. Receipts reflect the append-only history of your group's actions and cannot be silently rewritten. If you delete your account, your identity is removed and your name is replaced with "Deleted Member," but your group's shared receipts and history are preserved for the other members.

No warranty

The Napkin is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
